Outside Anchorage Venues

Alaska Fine Arts Academy, Eagle River

The Academy is still an important part of the Eagle River community 24 years later; this attests to the hard work and dedication of both the Braendels and others in the Eagle River, Anchorage, and Palmer/Wasilla communities.

Alaska Northern Lights Theatre, Denali National Park

The Northern Lights Theatre presents the Aurora Borealis set in the background of Denali National Park and Interior Alaska.

Fairbanks Shakespeare Theatre

The Fairbanks Shakespeare Theatre started with a performance alongside the Chena River in downtown Fairbanks, Alaska in 1992, and since then has grown into a year-round producing and international-touring theatre company.

First City Players, Ketchikan

First City Players is Ketchikan's community theatre, which involves hundreds of community volunteers to presents 10-12 productions annually.

Ketchikan Arts

The Arts Council (KAAHC) was founded in 1953 and incorporated in 1970. It is a thriving, full-service local arts agency with the central purpose of fostering community arts.

Ketchikan Theatre Ballet - Ketchikan, Alaska School of Dance

The Ketchikan Theatre Ballet teaches dance to hundreds of students each year - ballet, jazz, tap, and more. We present three major performances a year: An Evening of Dance during the Festival of the North in February, the Spring Gala in May, and the Nutcracker in December. KTB also collaborates with the Ketchikan Area Arts and Humanities Council and First City Players in sponsoring Gigglefeet Dance Festival in August.

Pier One Theatre, Homer

Halfway out the Homer Spit, next to the Fishing Lagoon, Pier One Theatre celebrates live theatre for the last 35 years!

Preserverance Theatre, Juneau

PT is dedicated to "tapping the potential of Alaska through the passionate creation and presentation of theatre." This mission statement originates in our organizational values: engaging community, pursuing excellence, embracing risk, and inspiring self-discovery.

Salisbury Theatre - University of Alaska, Fairbanks Theatre

Anything that occurs in the Salisbury, regardless of production company or intent, reflects upon the University of Alaska Fairbanks Theatre Department as a whole.

A frequent venue for Whistling Swan Productions' performances, the Vagabond Blues in Palmer offers a fabulous eatery that includes coffee, soups, and sandwiches.

Valley Performing Arts

VPA presents and promotes community participation in the live theatre to enhance the cultural and intellectual spirit of the community.

Statewide Arts Organizations

Alaska State Council on the ArtsAlaska State Council on the Arts- a state agency that fosters the development of the arts for all Alaskans through education, partnerships, grants and services.

Performing Arts Society on the Kenai Penninsula- a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing concerts of classical and jazz music to the Central Kenai Peninsula.

Off the Rocks: Where Theater And Therapy Meet In Order To Promote Healing And Growth- a project using theater and drama therapy as tools to create a healing process for women in recovery and to increase community awareness about substance abuse; this exciting project started from a grassroots effort by VSA Arts of Alaska And Akeela Inc.

 

National Arts

Alaska State Council on the ArtsNational Endowment for the Arts- a public agency dedicated to supporting excellence in the arts, both new and established; bringing the arts to all Americans; and providing leadership in arts education. Established by Congress in 1965 as an independent agency of the federal government, the Endowment is the nation's largest annual funder of the arts, bringing great art to all 50 states, including rural areas, inner cities, and military bases.

 

Worldwide Arts

Global Performing Arts Consortium- GloPAC is an international organization of institutions and individuals committed to using innovative digital technologies to create easily accessible, multimedia, and multilingual information resources for the study and preservation of the performing arts.
