Our Mission

Alaska Center for the Performing Arts, Inc. is an organization founded to operate, promote and maintain a four-theatre complex which serves as a social and cultural meeting place for all Alaskan residents, the visiting public and performing arts presenters and producers. In addition, it promotes the artistic endeavors of all Center users and presents special events which complement other activities and enrich our community.

Who is ACPA?

ACPA, the Center and the Municipality of Anchorage

Alaska Center for the Performing Arts, Inc. (ACPA), a non-profit organization hired by the Municipality of Anchorage, manages the Center. ACPA, schedules space use in the building, provides production management and technical expertise, sells tickets, and provides services for more than 240,000 patrons who enjoy the facility annually.

The Center itself is owned by the Municipality of Anchorage (MOA). ACPA's contract with the MOA provides approximately 58% of the operating revenue required to run this state of the art facility. The remaining 42% is raised through rentals, ticket services, and contributions from generous corporations and individuals.

ACPA has a 30 member Board of Directors comprised of community leaders, members and respresentatives from each resident company. The staff of ACPA is here for you, whether you are a patron or client looking to rent the facility. Visit our contact us page to find direct contact information for all staff members and let us know how we can help.

Each year ACPA publishes a report to the community and its IRS 990.

20 years...and counting!

The Alaska Center for the Performing Arts, also known as The Center or The PAC, opened its doors to the public in 1988. The facility was built as part of Project 80's, along with the Anchorage Museum of History and Art, Egan Civic and Convention Center, Sullivan Arena and Z.J. Loussac Library. The 2008-2009 performance season marks The Center's 20th Anniversary and along with celebrating this benchmark we are feverishly looking ahead to our next 20 years! So please visit this site often to learn more about what is going on at your Alaska Center!

Our Resident Company Family

The Center is home for eight resident companies who provide most of the amazing productions that you will see on our stages every year.

CenterTix

CenterTix is a department and service of Alaska Center for the Perfoming Arts, Inc.. CenterTix provides ticketing services for all events happening at The Center and for many events in and around Anchorage and the state. Patrons can buy tickets online, select your own seats and enjoy the convenience of printing your tickets at home!

MyAlaskaCenter.com

In the fall of 2008, ACPA merged its facility website (myalaskacenter.com) and its ticketing services website (centertix.net) to create a new website called myalaskacenter.com, allowing visitors and patrons to have a seamless visit to our home on the web. The new website is more focused on the the events that you will find happening at the Center, while still providing the detailed facility related information that our user groups and clients have come to appreciate having at their fingertips!

The Center and the Community

One of The Center's main functions is to bring community together. As a downtown landmark the facility is not only a beautiful structure in the downtown skyline, but also a place where people come to have life changing experiences, every day! ACPA is dedicated to providing opportunities for the community to enjoy this facility through various programs and special events.

Let us be your ticket to the performing arts!
