Spotlight: Assistant Box Office Managers
The Alaska Center for the Performing Arts is proud to present The Center's new Assistant Box Office Managers:

Lana Ramos
Lana Ramos has been serving The Center patrons in the box office for a year and a half and was promoted to Assistant Box Office Manager in November. Her background in music and arts education make her a perfect fit for The Center as she works in both the box office and as a House Manager.
The arts peaked Lana’s interest at an early age and she remembers coming to performances at the Old Sydney Laurence Theatre as a child. That passion continued into Lana’s adulthood as she worked for 5 years as the Youth Orchestra Manager and Education Coordinator in the Education Department of the Santa Rosa Symphony. In addition, she worked for the Sonoma County Choral Society as the Executive Assistant, served on the board for the Petaluma City Ballet, and currently sings for the Anchorage Concert Chorus.
To add to Lana’s extensive background in the arts, she is also expanding on her retail management career as a Front of House Manager at Spenard Roadhouse. |

Rachel Walker
Rachel Walker has been invested in the arts in Alaska for many years. She learned how to play the piano at age 7, the flute at age 12, and attended the Sitka Fine Arts camp to take courses specializing in everything from ballet to musicianship to painting.
Rachel has been a tremendous asset to The Center since the day she started a little over a year and a half ago. She enjoys working with her co-workers and helping to bring arts to the community.
Aside from being promoted to one of the new CenterTix Assistant Box Office Managers, there’s also an entrepreneurial-side to Rachel. She is a full-time UAA Business Management student and reflects by stating, “I’m very proud of the hard work I put in every day at work, in my studies, and in my personal life to attain my goals.”
Another interesting fact about Rachel is her love for Alaska, and if she ever chose to move, her new location would have to include a good Mexican restaurant that serves a cheese, bean, and rice burrito! |

Ruth Keller
If you’ve purchased a ticket or had the opportunity to speak with a ticket seller over the phone, chances are, you’ve probably been helped by Ruth or one of the other members of the Keller family. Ruth Keller has been a part of the The Center family since 2004 as a CenterTix box office associate, and has recently been promoted to the Assistant Box Office Manager.
Ruth is the mother of 4 and has been married to her husband, Mark, for over 24½ years. She describes the arts as, “a way to help anyone to become a well-rounded person and to broaden one’s appreciation for the world.” Her love for the arts has been passed down to her children who are also very active in the local arts community.
When Ruth isn’t working during a show at The Center, you can find her working as the Grant and Loan Administrator for the Engineering Division at Anchorage Water and Wastewater Utility. Other things Ruth enjoys include: spending time with family, working on creative projects, and volunteering in her church and as a girl/cub scout leader. |
We appreciate everything that Lana, Rachel and Ruth
do for The Center and for our community!
