Air Force Band of the Pacific
December 6 & 7, 2011 at 7:00pm
Get into the holiday spirit with the Air Force Band of the Pacific's Concert, SOUNDS OF THE SEASON. This family event features bands: Alaska Brass, Greatlanders and Alaskan Express. There's also rumored to be an appearance by a special guest from the North Pole. Join in the holiday fun in December. Admission is FREE!

TubaChristmas

TubaChristmas was conceived in 1974 as a tribute to the late artist/teacher William J. Bell, born on Christmas Day 1902. Today, TubaChristmas is presented in 200 cities throughout the United States, Canada and Switzerland. Admission is FREE!
Seating is limited but there is plenty of room to stand.

Center Spotlights: New Center Employees
Jayna Combs, Director of Development & Marketing
Jayna Combs recently joined the staff of the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts as the Director of Development and Marketing. She comes to the Center with over 14 years of experience in the fields of development and public relations. Prior to the Center she worked as Director of University Advancement for Alaska Pacific University. Jayna holds a bachelor’s degree in business and is finishing a Master of Arts in Philanthropy and Public Relations at APU. She is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and serves on the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Alaska Chapter board. She is married to Sam Combs; they have an incredibly talented daughter Alexa. Photo credit: Laura McArdle |
John Strebe, Director of Physical Plant
John Strebe recently became a member of the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts staff as the Director of Physical Plant. He joined the Center with over 30 years experience in building design, maintenance and repair. Before his current role with the Center, he was the lead engineer for a top ten property management company at Alaska Regional Hospital. John retired from the Air Force as a Master Sergeant after nearly 22 years. He participated in campaigns during Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Provide Comfort, and Operation Desert Focus. He is married to Amanda Strebe and together they have a combined family of eight children and two grandchildren. |

Kaz, recently promoted to Maintenance Mechanic II, has worked at the Center for over a year, his dedication and hard work were awarded with his recent promotion. Congratulations Kaz!
Jim was added to the staff as Custodian in July. Jim, along with the custodial crew, is credited with the consistent cleanliness of the facility.
Eric joined the Center as a Maintenance Mechanic I in November. We welcomed him just in time to prepare the facility for holiday performances and festivities. |

CenterTix has added five new ticketing staff. Chris and Brian are new to the Center, but Lexi, Nico and Mike have all worked in other departments of the Center. The group trained November 28 through 30, then will spend the next week job-shadowing. |
